This is my second Eclipse setup. After 5 years of my first one (and I bought it used) it was time to get a new one. It didn't take me long to set up the new one. Works great and it's pretty quiet. Eclipse keeps my tank clean and my fish seem happy! Fast shipping from this website!

I love this Eclipse Three hood filter and light. I have five cats that like to jump up on my aquariums and they did that on a glass canopy and broke it. But they can jump on these and they do not break. Plus they have bright lights, filter perfectly and the filter cartridge is the easiest to change of any filter i have ever owned.

Our new-to-us tank lighting wasn't working properly so when we found it on this site it was made easy to understand exactly what we needed. Though a little pricey this was the cheapest place to get the hood. Once we received it we set it up and had light!! The only problem was the swivel arm to the light broke off right away as did the last one since it was broke when we got the tank. So we assume this particular part is easy to break. Purchase, price, delivery, and setup were good. I would recommend this site to everyone! :)

We have had our aquarium hood for 10 yrs. or more and the light switch broke. So checking several different web sites and finding this price very reasonable I ordered one. I have owned the same Elipse 2 Filtration and Lighting Kit for about 25 years. Finally the switch and or ballast wore out and the lights would no longer work. I purchased a new Eclipse 2 Kit and just replaced the light hood/ballast, keeping the rest as replacement parts. It is a quiet, easy to service system that keeps the water beautiful and just keeps on running.

This fit perfectly on my 20 gal. I love the lighting being in the front instead of the back. I have a faux stone back on that tank, and the "in the hood" system is terrific. Easy to put together, looks clean and neat, Great deal.

I have had this for three weeks and one of the lights has stopped working. Come to find out it isn't the light but the fixture. Read some other review and seen that this is a common issue. One guy said he had to stick a paper towel to get the light to stay on. Maybe I will try this.

This is the second Eclipse filtration system I have owned, the last one worked for almost 9 years. Hopefully this one will perform as good. It was shipped quick and the price was great. It is working very well and set up was very quick and easy. This one is more efficient than the last one also, a few changes in design made it much easier to set up and use.

This hood is aesthetically beautiful and has a great light and the integrated filter is a superb idea, but this filter has an issue that is typical to all filters that use a one-piece combined media, they simply do not work well and this one is one of the worst. Within a week of installation, my water turned green, (no, it's not near a window), and no matter what I did wouldn't clear up, water changes, media changes, etc. I have been keeping fish both fresh and salt for almost 30 yrs and never had this trouble before. Do yourself a favor and get an AquaClear and a separate hood.

On December 22, 2009:
I have 2 Eclipse 3 units on my aquarium. The lighting in 1 unit failed with in 5 days. I completely disassembled the unit and discovered that both starters had failed. I purchased 2 "off the shelf" starters, disassembled them to get the actual starter out of the case and wired them in place of the defective ones. Two days later the other unit also failed, and I had to do the same thing to it. Since replacing all 4 starters, with in the first 7 days of ownership, they now operated flawlessly. Where are the T-5 conversion kits for the Eclipse 3 system so we can grow our plants with better success. Excellent Design, but weak lighting needs up grade to T-5 to get 5 stars.

On October 26, 2009:
Eclipse 3 system Filter System works great. But the light socks, stink, I called Marineland and they had no problem sending me out another light kit. It has problems also. I have to stick a paper towel between bulb and frame to get it to stay on. If it gets worse I gong to call them again.

I love the design, but, when you add any kind of bubbles near the edges, it drips over the aquairums edges from under the hood, and gets everything wet. Fix this problem and you'd have the ultimate hood ever. I love the filter and light in the same area and everything is very easy to take apart and clean. I have a design in mind...

I love this product, it is VERY easy to use, and keeps your tank clean and your fish happy. I would definitely use this product again and again! In fact I have bought this exact hood for two of my tanks.

This hood/filter is the bomb. It's fairly quiet, provides excellent lighting and is simple to maintain. It keeps a 20 gallon goldfish tank w/ 4 huge fish in it crystal clear. I use Stress Zyme and Stress Coat and do a 25 percent water change once a week. Filter changes happen once a month. It literally takes 20 seconds to change the filter including rinsing the fresh one.I highly recommend it.

The 15 gallon eclipse system is fantastic! My only regret is that I didn't purchase a larger system (like the 29 gallon system). I really appreciate how clearly it filtrates the water with minimal effort on my part. I also appreciate the design of having everything enclosed under the hood. It's really a great system!

Hood, lisht and filtration this product does it all. Filters are easy to replace and are inexpensive. A must have!

I love my eclipse 2 hood. I've use gravel filters, powerheads, etc. for years nothing has performed as well or as reliably for me as the eclipse.

The Eclipse 1 is a very nice integrated hood and filtration system that does a good job. We've had our system for quite a while and have been pleased. It can be a little tricky to set up at first, but is easy to maintain and the customer service is excellent!

I was pretty new to fishkeeping when I first bought my Eclipse 3. It is really great because everything you need for lighting and filtration is all combined into one. Also it looks really nice, and there isn't anything sticking out in the back like with other kinds of filters, so you can set your tank up right against the wall. The only issue I've had with it is that I can't use any really high wattage bulbs in it so that I am limited in what kind of live plants that will grow really well. But when my magnetic impeller stopped working after about 18 months, Marineland sent me a new one for free, really quickly. Their customer service was great!
