I normally use panties that have velcro, so it was a first with the side ties. Turns out we get a better fit with the ties and very seldom do the girls slip out of them. They also wash very nice, I just hang to dry. We use Walmart's female pads, they are $3.84 for 48 pads. I 've tried all brands and this is the very best for absorbency and length.

I have a little female Yorkie that is now 10 years old and has to take a special medication for an ongoing health issue. One side effect to the medication is that it often makes holding her pee/bladder control at the last minute very hard for her. It is a side effect of the medication itself. And, she is also kitty litter box trained and was having anxiety some days trying to get to her potty box in time and dribbling on her way. I hated seeing her upset by these instances and I hated cleaning up after her even though we have wood floors. So...These pants are wonderful! (Huge Smiles!) I have actually made her several of my own dog diaper pants on my sewing machine with side velcro straps, but I love these Flashy Pants in the warmer summer months as they are cooler and less bulky with the side tie on straps also for adjustable comfort! I have cut the plastic in the crotch out though because that holds the heat in the crotch which I didn't feel was a good idea. I now just use them on her with a long women's thin maxi pad with wings that I cut in half. The wings protect the pants from getting wet and I can always add an extra little section of pad to the crotch if she has days when she seems to need more absorbancy. Her Vet said that women's pads are designed to keep the moisture away from the body also which he recommended. Because, even in dogs, urinary tract infections are a concern with this type of thing/use also...So, I use flushable baby wipes on her also if she has an accident to keep her clean (also as her Vet recommended) and I have to check the pants regularly in-between her bathroom trips just to make sure that she has had no dribbling accidents on those days when they are necessary. It is also good to change the pad even if it is just a very little amount of dribble...Again, to avoid urinary tract infections. Sooooo...We are very thankful for these pants & her Vet was also very pleased with our solution to her problem also. Now she can continue to enjoy her life at 10 years old even with this little ongoing problem and we can all also continue to enjoy her life, as well! (Smiles!) She is precious after all and worth every effort, no doubt! For those that have said that their dogs don't like these pants, please don't let that discourage you from these. It is really just a matter of getting the dog used to them. At first, I laughed at her in them and didn't think that she could ever use them or walk in them correctly...As I originally got them for her years ago when we first had her as a puppy and she went into heat before I could get her 'fixed'. We just used a little women's Carefree mini pad in them then. Again, I just cut out the plastic from the crotch carefully...I don't like that part. I think that it is really useless anyway if you use the pants with a women's pad. The plastic only holds in the dog's body heat in the crotch area which I think is a bad idea and surely breeds bacteria. Plus, dogs are dogs and were not made for these anyway...They are not little mini humans after all! (Smiles!) Anyway...The 'heat' espisodes years ago were really where I got the idea from for now. Bottom line is that once she got used to walking in these adorable little pants, they became like a 'part of her' and now there is no problems at all. She doesn't bite at them, walks fine, and they don't bother her at all. Plus, she looks precious in them with her little dog dress for added warmth on our wood floors and people never have to know about her issues. Why, she even stands patiently as I put them on her after her potty breaks and wipings and she no longer has the anxiety from her dribbling episodes that she had before because of her advancing age and the special medication that she now also has to take. Flashy Pants are the BEST! You won't be disappointed! They are worth every penny for both purposes (even if they are really only technically designed for one usage) and we have used them for both for reasons now! (Smiles!) Thanks, Flashy Pants!

I think that the quality of the garment is okay. I have a Min Pin and she is about 9 months. Amber, My dog, takes the diaper off very easily and takes out the pad and chews it up. This means that it has to be changed soo many times a day!!!! She also ripped up the plastic that keeps the sanitary pad in. Now I have to buy a new diaper. I wouldn't recommend this product for puppies or dogs that do not like clothing or material tied to their body!
