I recently was looking for a beefier areator....and I received a monster. I love how you can control the air flow by the valves and it's overall power. I would reccomend this to anyone that is looking for a system...couldn't be happier!

Just got the Sl-65 today and it works like a champ and delivers a lot of air for my 150G tank. It makes a little noise (but not that bad) and the price is the best at Petmountain. I will buy one more in the next couple weeks for another tank.

Shipped fast. I'm able to run 4-18" bubble bars and 3 sponge filters with valves cracked about half open..could probably run a 60 lb jack hammer with this pump...LOL...BUT i can see (or should i say HEAR) why... this thing sounds like a LOCOMOTIVE. I would suggest buying enough air line to put this in a different room so you don't stress the fish or cause yourself to go deaf. No joke. It's definitely worth the money if you can handle the noise.

The pump easily sends air to the bottom of my 2 foot deep, 45 gal tank. It runs a 12 inch airstone and an undergravel filter. Something that the various Whisper and other standard air pumps had trouble accomplishing. The cost was great too providing an overall 5 star value.

The cons are it is extremely noisy. I can hear it across the 15 foot room and across an adjoining 20 foot room. Not the bubbles but the air pump itself. The other con is the heat. The outside housing of the air pump gets very warm, hot to the touch.

Great price, large volume of air, have had mine for almost 1 year. I use it for hydro guarding. I will be buying more! Zero complaints.

I have a deep aquarium and could not get the best of pumps from the chain stores to produce any appreciable air. This pump is so strong I have to use it at half flow even with multiple lines running. The price is great for the supply of air, the only downside being the noise. I am going to move the pump under my house and run the line up through the floor. It is loud!

On October 2, 2010:
If your looking for a pump with 3.9 PSI this unit is great for aquariums 3 to 5 feet in depth. This unit adds a good amount of oxygen for your tropical fish to keep them alive and healthy.
