I use these for a wide variety of applications - carbon, purigen, ammo chips, as pre-filters for power heads & anything else that I can use them for. Good quality @ a good price. Only wish there were other sizes available.

On August 4, 2010:
I fill mine with Ammonia Chips (for clear water and quick ammonia removal) and Activated carbon (to remove harmful chemicals and clear water) These substances can be used over and over again with the media bag. Ammonia chips (rinse, place in vinegar for 20 minutes, rinse and dry) carbon, rinse well and dry) and they are fine for reuse. Look out for that drawstring, though, it will tangle and break very easily.

On April 19, 2007:
I use these bags to make up "chemical bags." Each with different products for removing ammonia, etc. that can be easily switched out as test show are needed.
