The Carbon Filter pads are more expensive than buying loose carbon to put in bags, but the pads are a real time-saver! No long, messy rinsing required; just pop a new one in when you need it.

This is a fantastic deal. I usually pay a lot more money for just plain filter pads, not even with carbon in them. I think if you had a simple tank with not a lot of fish it would be perfect for replacing carbon packs, but I use it for turtles (HUGE amounts of waste) so I combine it with carbon packs that I fill myself, just to be sure. This cut to fit package saves me $9 per filter pad, per media change. So basically it saves upwards of $40 per change. And so far my tank has been sparkling clean and not smelly.

This was a very simple, cost effective solution for my power filter - The carbon makes my water clear and odor free I was paying $8 for 3 filter replacements, but with this pad I can make 12 for $3.99, and they work every bit as well as my filter mfg's replacements

THESE PADS ARE GREAT. I HAVE A 4X4 FILTER (BIG) FOR MY TURTLE AND CAN CUT THESE PADS TO SIZE. SAVES SO MUCH MONEY AND THEY WORK GREAT!

I really love these pads, I have 2 different size filters and I can cut them to the size I want, and they are a lot cheaper than buying pre-cut ones.
