This is a great heater I have three discus tanks and I use one in each.

I bought this heater hoping for quality. The first 3 months, worked great. Held temperature within +/- 1/2 degree. After 3 months it stopped working, no heat. Attempts to contact the manufacturer have failed. They do not reply to emails.

On May 3, 2011:
My application for this wonderful heater is a bit different from fish. However, it is related to those that drink like a fish. Its virtually indestructible and non toxic nature is crucial. The heater and temperature probe are on the inside of a plastic lid that snaps air tight onto a 7 gallon pail. The cables are sealed air tight to fill a hole in the lid with a non toxic adhesive leaving the thermostat and plug on the outside. I always set the thermostat to 75F to ferment my fine home brewed ALE. Were I to make a LAGER (in the winter) I would set it to around 55F. This fine product is second only to the fine product it helps to produce in my home brewery. Cheers !!

I like the heater so far, no problems ,and I really like the fact the thermostat is located outside the aquarium. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is I haven't had it very long.

Great heater. Don't have to worry about glass breakage. Great that I dint have to get my hands wet in the tank to change the temperature. Like the idea of the separate temp gauge which to me would provide more accurate results. Great price on it here and can't beat the free shipping (although it did take a while, but that's just FedEx/USPS since it was ground and going cross country).

I have used other types of heaters, but none and I mean none offer absolute accuracy like Via Aqua's Titanium heater does at such a low price! Shop around and compare and you'll be back and you'll know this thing is great!

I love this heater. Especially love the fact that it's dial controlled. So accuracy is good. Excellent item, get one!!!

On April 24, 2009:
I HAD the 300 Watt for my 72 gallon bowfront tank. It worked great for a little over 2 years and was very reliable during that time. the external temperature dial is very convenient. I am not sure how long these things should last, but i have no complaints and will look to buy another one. I am only giving it 3 stars because it lasted 2.5 years. But it worked with 5 stars during that time.

On April 3, 2009:
This is by far the best one I tried. I love that they have a separate probe that reads the temperature, and love that the controller is outside the tank and you can adjust your temperature without wetting your hands. temperature reading is super accurate... what the controller reads is what your thermometer will read in your tank. I actually also like the fact that the thermometer is matt steel gray than shiny with all sorts of grids and numbers on it. I think it shows less in the tank this way.

On February 12, 2007:
I purchased a Commodity Axis Titanium 300watt heater and it's great. I love the temp. controller that is seperate and out of the water, no more getting hands Wet!
It brought my 55 gal tank to within 1 degree measured with a seperate thermometer. I highly recomend this product.

I purchased the 150watt for my 26L. Stays right on the dot - no faliure here!!
