This thing is great for us... The built-in filtration system does a great job and the fact that it's seamless makes it pleasing to look at. The only downfalls to this is that it doesn't have a a seal of any kind at the top rim where the black trim piece snaps on to the top of the tank, which means if you accidentally get too much water in it, it will leak even though it's not actually 'overflowing'. Other than that, we love it.

One of my favorite small acrylic tanks. The way the water flow is set up is perfect for my plecos to breed in.
On August 2, 2010:
Has a very quiet filter. Not big and bulky, perfect size for my goldfish! I just wish it had little opening for feeding though.
On July 10, 2010:
We bought the 12 gallon for our daughters Ryukin goldfish Perry. He was living in a 2 gallon tank so this was a major upgrade. Even with the added shipping (for fragile items) it was the cheapest then EVERYONE else. It's easy to set up and easy to clean and runs quietly. The fish LOVES all of his new room and we have it on our kitchen counter-top bar area. Wonderful tank I'd recommend it to anyone! Worth every penny!

I am very pleased with this little tank. It is slightly larger than I expected but that's a good thing and it looks fantastic on my desk. Filtration and lighting is "good enough" (don't expect the world here). I have the tank heavily planted and have some small fish with no problems. I recommend a good scrubbing with a damp microfiber cloth (no soap!!!) to get the acrylic looking good before you fill the aquarium. To me the aesthetic of the rimless tank and integrated filter justifies the additional cost over, say, a standard 5 or 10 gallon tank.

I purchased a 3 gallon and love it so I am now purchasing a 6 gallon aquarium. I love the easy care and that all components are under one hood. I have had aquariums for years and there always had to be a separate place for the pump and several plug ins available. I would recommend this setup to anyone!

Was given tank as a gift, I really did like it until I had to start replacing parts. It would be easier if I could get them. You don't offer the ones I need. Which means I will buy another brand to replace this one.
On February 23, 2010:
This tank is great! The first one didn't function properly and petmountain replaced it no questions asked. Customer service was FANTASTIC and the replacement tank is beautiful.
On June 3, 2009:
This is the best tank we ever had. I only have to change the filter once in a while and it stays clean so long. It's so easy to have.
On December 31, 2007:
I've had my Eclipse 3-gallon Aquarium now going on 5 years and I love it. When the motor went, it was easily replaceable. I love th ease of cleaning it and my fish has lived long lives.
On December 5, 2007:
I have had this aquarium for one month now and so far love it!!! It keeps the water crystal clear, it is silent. My fish are happy.
Something to watch for is this tank was designed to only have a half inch of gravel or other substrate otherwise you loose a lot of water volume. I have near 2 inches of substrate and now tank only holds approx 8 gallons of water... Means you have to keep less fish. :(
Only con is removing the hood every time you do a water change which should be daily while tank is cycling. Aside from this slight annoyance. This aquarium is perfect.
On November 26, 2007:
The eclipse fish aquarium is the best. The curved tank lets everyone see what going on in the tank. The top mounted filtration system is so quiet. Its the best money I every spent.
On November 15, 2007:
I love my little 3 gallon eclipse, it holds my betta and an apple snail, they love it too! I'm getting the 6 gallon for home!
I wish it had a more powerful light though and a heater. but thats ok.
On November 1, 2007:
I have the 3 gallon in my office at work with a few tetras, snails, and a ghost shrimp. Everyone loves to look at the tank. Very compact, neat and nice.
At home, I have the 12 gallon as a reef tank. Upgraded the lights to 96W and it has been running great since March of this year.
On September 4, 2007:
Worked better than I expected. Good product.
On May 20, 2007:
I have the three gallon model, and I have to say this is one of the best mini-aquariums available! I am a student and was looking for something that would be low maintenance and affordable, and this tank was exactly that. Not only is maintenance easy and clean, but the unit looks so professional and attractive. Two thumbs up. The only flaw I can think of is what some others mentioned, which is the center brace, which does make it slightly harder to net fish and clean without removing the entire lid and frame. But this is a very minor point, in my opinion.

I OWNED AN ECLIPSE TANK FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND AM EXCITED TO PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE! PERFECT FOR MY DESK!
On April 8, 2007:
I have been using the Eclipse 12 since Dec 2006. The overall setup makes for a very clean professional and complete looking setup. The bowed front and wider front than rear, makes the tank appear to be a nice size. The bio-wheel is very quiet. I added an air pump and bubble wand and I would recommend doing the same. I also added a 50 watt heater. The canopy access panel door allows for ample room for feeding and filter pad changes or bio wheel inspection. The lid is tight fitting and really keeps down tank evaporation. If you need to do any major tank maintenance that requires you to stick your hand in the tank like netting a fish or vacuuming, you do need to remove the entire canopy to do so, which is a little inconvenient. I understand the need for the center tank brace, but that makes major maintenance a bit annoying also since the top is effectively divided in half when the canopy is off. The fluorescent light is 13 Watts, so do not expect to grow plants requiring high light. I would give this setup an overall rating a 4.5 out 5. Since 4.5 is not a choice, I have to give it a 4.

I have the three gallon which is a great little home for Mr. Betta. It is every thing they claim it to be, quiet, efficent, and very attractive. If it only had a lift for feeding it would be perfect.
On March 15, 2007:
Well I have a one gallon aquarium and I think it's will be to small, Ive been researching alot on aquarium, and everyone that has eclipse, has nothing but good things to say about it and the bio-wheel. I cant wait to get started, then I'll have more to tell you.
On March 10, 2007:
I have an Eclipse 12 aquarium that houses six fish, a pleco, bog wood and plants. It has done an extraordinary job at keeping everyone and everything healthy and happy. I love the look, as all unsightly parts are concealed under the hood. As long as you perform weekly water changes and keep everything clean, this aqaurium will not let you down.
On February 16, 2007:
I bought this kit for my 4 year old and used it as a salt water tank. He loves it. It is the perfect size.
On February 4, 2007:
I have had this tank for a number of years. I am generally happy with the tank. The filter system keeps the tank clean. My only problem with the tank is that the ballast on the light burned out.
On January 2, 2007:
This is our families first tank and we've had no problems. We slowly added fish and all, 5 total, are doing well. I like the look of the curve too.
On December 8, 2006:
We got a system 12 and a heater as a starter kit for our kids to keep tropical fish. The tank comes with a filtration system that is inside the cover and an integrated lamp. This makes it very easy to clean the filter. Everything is contained in the unit and requires no additional pumps or other bulky units that get in the way. The filter provides sufficient flow and circulation to absorb oxygen, eliminating the need for a noisy air pump to keep fish healthy.
Excellent value and good looks.
On November 22, 2006:
I got the 12 gallon for my daughter for her birthday. She really enjoyed it and the Bio-wheel is great!
