Seachem Ammonia Alert Aquarium Saltwater Test Kits at Pet Mountain

On January 31, 2013:
Ensure you have a current ammonia alert in your aquarium. This is especially true if setting up a new aquarium. Levels must be checked for the aquarium to cycle properly. Then keep a watch out for a spike as high ammonia can kill your fish.

If you want to keep a eye on free ammonia then this is the monitor to have. Been running it for 4 months and test it periodically works flawless. I will be purchasing more of them.

On December 31, 2012:
I bought this for my nieces' tank, that I got them for Christmas, to make sure that my sister could pay attention to one of the most important aspects of having a fish tank. With this product, I was able to tell her that when it changed colors it was time to change the water, but also told her to make a regular water change a week. It is a great peace of mind knowing that for the first few critical weeks before the tank was cycled it would at least give her a starting index of when she needed to change the water. I just wish there was one for Nitrite and Nitrate.

On December 20, 2011:
I made a mistake and relied on this alert to tell when my ammonia levels were high, it never happened. I tested with the liquid and the test strip which both gave a ammonia level of 8 and the Seachem alert did not even change colors. It just stayed the pale white that it was from the start. This is TERRIBLE. The reason I checked the ammonia level the fish were starting to dart around the tank. VERY DISAPPOINTED SEACHEM!!!

On March 11, 2011:
Indicator color started off yellow and never changed even once over a period of 3 weeks when I went from 2 fish to 8 fish and 4 shrimp. Disappointing results for a (previously) 5-star review product. I'm going back to using test strips.

Seachem Ammonia Alert Devise is one of the greatest inventions of the century. Everybody with an aquarium should have one of these in every tank. Pet Mountain offers the best pricing on this item I've seen around. They ship promptly and the product is always received in great condition.

On November 5, 2007:
While cycling my new freshwater tank, I was testing the ammonia with a 2-part chemical test twice daily. I bought the Seachem in-tank monitor and compared it to the results of the chemical tests over several days...They had identical readings throughout the daily fluctuations in ammonia levels. What a convenient, useful invention!!!

On October 1, 2007:
When we first set up our tanks we had ammonia problems. I bought Ammonia Alert and never had to test all the time with chemicals.
