Efficient skimmers such as the Red Sea Prizm Skimmer remove proteins before they break down and pollute the water. The Prizm Skimmer enhances the quality of the aquarium's environment as well as its appearance. With protein skimming as the waste material is removed it is separated from the water flow. In contrast, the particulate matter collected in a mechanical filter stays in contact with the water flow and, if not removed, breaks down, increasing the organic loading of the aquarium.

The Red Sea Prizm Skimmer combines an efficient 12-blade turbo-jet air injector together with Red Sea's convergent-divergent flow technology reaction chamber, resulting in exceptional skimming performance.
