Coralife Mini Compact Fluorescent 50/50 Aquarium Compact Fluorescent Bulbs at Pet Mountain

The transaction was easy and the bulbs were received earlier than expected. They were exactly what was needed thanks to the complete description on the website.

On June 11, 2011:
I use two lights and then modified a ten gallon hood. two light gave out 40 watt great for soft corals. In my ten gallon tank I have a frogspawn, hammer coral, toad leather coral, mushroom coral, candy cane coral, and some polyp corals. Had my tank running for 2 yrs on these light and had no problems just replace the light bulbs every year. Cant Beat Pet Mountain Prices

Promotes excellent plant growth. Very real, vibrant light that lights up my tank beautifully. Have never had any of the short bulb life problems that other have reported. Highly recommended product. Far superior to the awful old incandescent lamps I used to use years ago.

On August 12, 2010:
I purchased 4 of these Colormax 10 watt CF's for night lights in my 220 gal. Marine aquarium. I also have 2 plain old regular Lowe's purchased CF bulbs that are also used as night lights on the same tank. They have lasted over 2 years now. The high dollar Colormax bulbs have lasted 3 months, and 3 1/2 months. 2 out of 4 have died so far. The pet shop where I purchased them(Pet Supplies Plus) will do nothing, and the manufacturer ignores my e-mails.They sell JUNK. Won't purchase from them again.

Just finishing a black algae clean up in my 20 gal aquarium....a real chore. I have this light (50/50 10w) on one side of the hood in my 10 gal aquarium. There is a very prominent dividing line between the the side under the 50/50 light and the side under the white light. The plants and gravel under the 50/50 light are nearly free of any black algae while on the other side, I have clean up yet to do. This is a great light if you're looking to control algae growth. I'm ordering another one.

WOW!!!! When I replaced my current bulbs with these 20w 50/50s for my ten gal. nano tank, it was the difference betwwen night and day!! Everything came to life. I was able to see all of the vibrant colors of my fish, the pink and purple coraline algae that was growing on my rock, and the corals. A must buy for anyone thinking of buying a great bulb!!!

If your tank is small (10G), you don't have ambissions for the hard corals (they need MH) and you like to do some DIY work, this is a great light for you. I made a hood, installed 3 light sockets, wired them and put these lights in (3x20watt). I've grown green star polyp, 4 varieties of zoanthids, mushrooms and pulsing xenia with no problems. I'm trying a little frog spawn and birds nest -so far so good (1 month on birds nest and 1 week on frog spawn). I like the lights but think it will be more expensive over the long run. I'm moving into a 20G soon and will be transitioning to the Nova Extreme 2x24" (1124 $55 from pet mountain). I anticipate that being a lot better. Good for what it is but you get what you pay for. :)

Pretty nice, fit into a compact hood for a nano/pico reef. Happy that I didn't have to use an incandescent.

I think these lights are great! They don't heat up as much as the "regular" bulbs and they bring out the color of my fish. They also seem to be more of a natural light rather than the yellow color.

Pretty nice light for the price. Not bad for small reef tanks.

This bulb adds great clarity to my fish tank without heating it up to a higher degree than normal. I especially love it because it does not add artificial color to my tank appearance.
