Four Paws Pet Safety Sitter Car Seats & Dog Seat Belts at Pet Mountain

One of my dogs is a pain in the butt in the car. And this works great to keep him hooked an secure.

I bought this harness for my dog Peach in 2005. At that time I was going to school in Boulder, CO. I was rear-ended while exiting a university parking lot and if my dog was sitting in my friend's lap, he would have gone flying out the window and been killed. Luckily, he was at home and not with us then. Normally when I'd go driving around I'd just let Peach sit in the front seat or let him sit in my lap. Or if my friend was with me, she'd hold him in her lap. But after that accident, I felt scared about having Peach ride around with me and decided to get a safety harness for him so he could be securely buckled in like I was. I found this harness at a local PETCO. He tried on some of the other harnesses while we were in the store and I thought it was the best one to buy because of the security of the restraint straps. It just felt STURDY. Plus, it was easy to adjust and clip on. And the seat belt loop was made of the same seat belt material you find in cars. There was no WAY Peach could come loose if he was strapped in. (He never once wriggled free while wearing this harness on any car ride). Initially, Peach did not like being strapped in because it meant he couldn't climb into my lap. But after wearing it a few times on a couple of car rides, he actually started to LIKE it!!! As long as he was strapped in wearing the harness, it meant he wouldn't slide around (which I know he didn't enjoy; he'd brace himself if he started to slide). He could be strapped in and still lie down in his bed as well. Peach liked this harness because it made him feel SECURE while he was riding in the car with me. I recommended this harness to my aunt to get for her dog too. I'd recommend this harness to any dog owner wanting to take their dog in the car.

I used this harness for my last 2 dogs for well over 10 years and am using it in my 3rd dog. The clamp finally broke because it was stepped on so I'm buying another. Great to use for the car and the dog can still move around but is safe. Also good for walking the dog. It's design is minimal and keeps the dog cool but the straps are very strong. So glad I found another one!

On August 23, 2009:
My three labs wear this harness every waking hour. It's not just for car safety. It can be used for general wear and easy leash attachment. It is ultra comfortable for the dog, it never has caused any chafe marks even when worn around the clock. Awesome for older dogs because the strong loop on top can be used to assist up and down stairs and steady them when standing. This product is GREAT!

I have this harness for my standard dachshund and she has been wearing it in the car for a few years. It is durable and works great! She is very secure in it! I recently got another dachshund and am going to buy one for him, too! I tried a different brand and it did not work nearly as good!

On October 24, 2007:
I have used this brand and type of seat belt for over 10 years. The only reason I have replaced them is shutting the buckles in the door breaks them.

They work wonderfully and keep the dogs safe.

On August 19, 2007:
This harness works great for car travel and biking. I'm replacing mine after about 10 years and two dogs. Mine did extra duty as my dogs would run with me along side my bike, sometimes pulling me when they want to go faster. I am 200 pounds so you can imagine the forces applied. After 10 years it finally broke. Assuming they are still made the same way, I would recommend this harness.

The four paws pet harness is the best travel harness out there! I've encouraged many others to buy the product and now the local pet store is planning to carry them. Keep the good products coming!
