Just imagine how your dog will react if you put him outside and close off the inside to prevent him from reentering the house. Will he go to the dog door and attempt to get in? If there is a flexible vinyl flap with a magnet at the bottom hanging there and a solid hard vinyl access door behind that preventing access to the house, what do you think your dog will do to the flexible flap? Do you think he/she will scratch at it or chew it? Replacement flaps are conveniently available from $15.90 - $49.36. Einstein once said, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results." If you have a dog that will not chew or destroy the flap, or if you never chose to prevent reentry to the house, you may not have a problem with the flap. However, if you have active dogs that desire to reenter the house and destroy the flap in short order, you may want to check yourself into the closest institution. I review, you decide. I purchased 2 of these a couple of weeks ago and plan on modifying or replacing them in the near future. I will not pay almost the cost of a complete new door for a replacement vinyl flap.
