Nylabone Dura Chew Bacon Dura Chew Dog Chew Bones at Pet Mountain

Dogs keep going back to this chew bone and it lasts!

I was very disappointed to find that this Nylabone DuraChew is not designed like the other DuraChew bones. It has a hollow inside and my dog, an 80 lb. Lab, ate through it in no time. This should not be labeled DuraChew, as it is NOT intended for strong chewers!

My black lab loves this toy...one of her favorite chews. At times she is able to chew end off and I throw the rest away. Still lasts a while though.

I too did not realize this bone is a 2-piece design. Although my dogs (2 fifty pounders and one 100#) loved the bone, it didn't last very long at all. They had it cracked open rather quickly and were biting off the large connecting pieces (definite obstruction risk). I won't be buying this style again. I love the Nylabone products overall and find them to be great chew toys for my dogs, all of which are avid chewers. I also generally buy the tougher chew designs and avoid the "flexible" as they don't last nearly as well (hours to days vs. months).

On January 5, 2010:
I was surprised to find that this Nylabone Dura Chew is actually a two piece design. It is held together with "posts & sleeves". I assume some kind of adhesive too? Anyway, my dog (88 lb. Lab) had it opened up within 30 minutes. Not pleased at all with the $$ I spent on a chew toy that was destroyed in that short of a time. The description should state that it is a two piece design and not intended for aggressive chewers.
