I love Pedi-Paws, It makes nail trimming go smoothly. However, I feel I have more control, and it's easier for me to use. when I don't use the plastic cover. I support the nail with my finger on top of it. While my dog isn't fond of nail-trimming time, she will quietly lay there while I'm doing it.

My blind American Rat Terrier has little opportunity to wear down his nails, and taking him to the vet or groomer just to get his nails clipped seemed too expensive. We have tried animal nail clippers, but they seemed to hurt the dog and we were afraid we would cut too low. The poor thing's nails were catching on throw rugs.
