Petmate Le Bistro Feeder Gravity Dog Feeders at Pet Mountain

Green mold appears within a couple of days. Not happy with the product. I paid 10.95 for it and can't use it.

I am ordering my 12th waterer for my dogs, which should be testimony as to how much we like them. For inside use, they are really good - for outside use, at least in the Arizona desert, the bottle will turn brittle after about a year on our covered patio. This is one of the reasons I've bought twelve of them. The other reason is I keep extras for cleaning.

You do need to use them properly. You cannot let them go until they are empty. Regular cleaning is a must, as mold and other things will start growing in the bottle - then you will need to bleach it and that can be messy, not to mention it can speed aging of the bottle. Crud will also collect in the water basin. We always empty ours every day and have a fresh, dry bottle ready to be filled and put on. This way, we can rinse the used bottle and let it air out in the garage. No bacteria or mold this way.

Some dogs & cats will need to get used to these - especially the more skittish ones. They drink without problem, then the bottle blows air bubbles and watch your animal jump the first few times. Even the stoutest rottie or bull terrier may be startled at first. They do get used to it, though.

If you have the room, you won't regret one of these - especially at Pet Mountain's price.

I got this waterer for my new kitten and it is the perfect size for her. Not so tall like some that she can't get her face over to drink.

On December 18, 2006:
We have both the waterer and the feeders. Since we have such a large fur family, it saves time having to refill so often. Our pets appreciate that. Have been using these items for several years, and can say they're the best!

On November 11, 2006:
The LeBristo Feeder needs little clean up and minimal attention. Just refill as needed and forget it. I've had zero problems with this product.
