I had my first dead of winter litter of German Shorthair pups this year, and wanted an additional heat source for the whelping box. The KH lectro heat bed with the lambskin cover was the perfect choice. The newborn pups moved freely on and off the bed as they needed the extra warmth; even mom enjoyed it, and would often nurse her pups on it! The heat lamp that I've used in the past often made the box too hot and dry, and required constant attention, while this bed could be left on all the time. The cover is easily washable, and I would have been happy with more of them, so that I didn't have to do laundry as often.
