On April 10, 2013:
We are extremely pleased with the doggie door window. We didn't attach it, just have it with the screen door so we can remove it when necessary. Our son has one for his pups too and agree that it's great!

The installation was quick, clean & easy. The door fits well and looks great. One of those "wish I would have done this sooner" kind of things.

On November 28, 2012:
The Freedom Patio Panel Pet Door at first looked terrific until I started to install. The directions are clear and precise but the one thing I ran up against is the unit does not have straight sides (height). The top and bottom sides fit flush with the patio door but, in the middle there is a 1/4 in gap that the insulation foam is supposed to fill. Because of the glass there is no way to tweak the unit to straighten, thicker insulation will be required to fill this area. Additional work will be required to install the door lock but, that was fixed with a spacer on the lock part that fits the patio panel. Other than these two problems the pet panel is a good unit although I`m not sure the price is justified with the additional work that must be done to assure a good fit. Whoever manufactures this door should review their quality control procedures to assure the panel is trued and all sides are straight. I would recommend this product providing customer has basic skills and knowledge of specialized installation procedures.

On June 30, 2012:
We received the pet door in the time expected. It was easy to install. We were surprised at the size of the door opening because our dog is so large and this was an large, extra tall door, but the door opening did not seem very large at all. But it was fine once we got him to go through a couple of times. Our last door was for the same size dog, but was for installation in a door and it was significantly larger. But this door does work for our 92 pound hound and our 2 mini-schnauzers!

On April 11, 2012:
I popped this into our sliding door frame in about 5 minutes - did not use any hardware as we want to take it in and out as needed - just use a wooden pole at end of sliding door when want to "lock" the door. Dog was using it within minutes.

On February 6, 2012:
Long story short - AWESOME! Pomeranian who could NEVER be house broken. Took 3 days to train him to use it and NOW... uses it ALL the time. He has become the best dog ever and has free run of the house, accident free.

With weather stripping, door is draft free, easy to use and easy to go in and out of the human portion. A small wood rod secures the door from intruders and NO Drilling of any locks were necessary. Would recommend this to anyone. FREEDOM has finally come to my dog and myself. GET THIS DOOR!

On March 16, 2011:
Now that it's in place, it's a quality product. However, the space for people to go in and out is only 13". If I remove the screen, it'll be 14 1/2". There's no way I could have installed it! The sketchy instructions were useless. I had to hire a handyman to put it in, then pay my alarm co. $90 to put in another sensor, then have the handyman come back to drill holes for the screws and the locking pin at the top. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of clear instructions.

On July 1, 2010:
I have five cats and it was very easy to train them to use the flap door. Although the door can be secured to the frame, I did not do so, so that I could remove the door at night as my security system could not be activated if the door was not removed. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would highly recommend it to any pet owner.

On March 15, 2010:
I love the idea of the dog door for a sliding glass door. But this was not easy to install. The directions are hard to follow, you have to purchase additional tools to install, like drill bits and screws. The last direction of securing to frame had no diagram and did not fully tell you where to secure it. I am not happy with this as I have holes drilled now where I don't think they go. Better directions would be the best.
