I've had this for 1 month attached to 155 gal outdoor tank. It cleared the algae bloom in 4 days attached inline with a Marineland Magnum 350 canister filter. When attaching be sure to secure the connection between the UV sterilizer barbs and the tubing with zip ties or some other plastic clamp or it could leak. I would rate it a 5 but have not had to do any maintenance yet. Good product at a great price.

I had been looking for a UV unit for my 400 gallon Koi pond but was turned off by the high cost of the other UV filters on the market, >$200. This inexpensive UV filter not only cleared up the brown and green colored algae that was free floating on my pond within 2 days, but it also was very easy to install. I plumbed it just before my low pressure biofilter. My water is much clearer now, and it is making steady progress to removing the orange water created by the tannin from leaves, that had fallen in my pond. So far after 2 weeks, I love it.
