Rep Cal Tortoise Food Turtle & Tortoise Food at Pet Mountain

Good food even for my picky eaters. I"m very happy with this product, and happy with petmountain's prices.

I usually purchase this product retail, but have had some difficulty finding it, so I decided to go to the source and I'm glad I did. The product is considerably less expensive purchasing directly from Pet Mountain, even with shipping charges. And, of course, the main reason I like this product is because my tortoises love this food!

On October 19, 2010:
We have been feeding this to our desert tortoise for 6 years and it is his favorite. We have tried other brands and he wouldn't eat them. We'll stick with this brand.

This stuff is a huge favorite of my ornate box turtle, he goes crazy and dives in after trying to attack me first. Mix in some freeze dried fruit from Healthy Herps and you've got a great meal, for a turtle that is.

"This kibble when soaked in water makes it quick and easy to make sure your tortoises are getting good nutrition. I sometimes add a bit of repti-cal powder to the water before soaking, as a desert tortoise expert recommend. It has a nice fruity smell. Our torts love it, some need to get used to it. One of our cat's nibbles at it, though she eats just about anything they eat because she doesn't want to miss out! :-) Don't worry about getting too much. It stores great over winter.

It doesn't matter the size big or small, when they smell the Rep-Cal Tortoise food they come running. I moisten the dry pellets a little before feeding. The Tortoises will eat the Rep-cal first, then the vegetables and lettuce.
I am very glad Rep-cal has stayed consistently the same high quality. Don't improve on what works, no other brand will compare.

I have tried other brands but none compare to the high quality found in Rep-cal complete Tortoise Food. My hatchlings to adults have eaten Rep-cal for more than ten years.

This food is so good for the turtles, they love it. It has everything they need to keep them healthy. I give it to them on the side, so they have a choice when to eat it. PS: the wild birds and neighborhood cats like it too! LOL

Our Red Foot Tortoise will eat this when nothing else works. When she turns her head from fruits, veggies and meat she still eats her 'pebbles'. They have kept her healthy for 3 1/2 years.

Feeding your tortoise couldn't be easier. It would be hard to give your tortoise a diet this balanced without spending a lot of time and money. My leopard wont eat it dry so I soak it in water (the food expands) and he loves it. Great product.

My tortoises love this stuff. I've been using it for approx 4 years, and they haven't gotten tired of it yet.
Their growth is nice and slow/even. I tend to feed them only every 3 days or so in order to avoid overfeeding and also to encourage appetite.
