The Nova Extreme X2 Saltwater Light Fixture combines the best in both design and functionality and is a great addition to any aquarium. The sleek black-aluminum construction not only maintains a low profile on the aquarium, its design also allows it to dissipate heat away from the aquarium, lamps and components.
German-style polished reflector directs over 99% of the T5 lighting into the aquarium while a polycarbonate splash lens protects lamps. Sliding aquarium mounts adjust easily to ensure a proper fit for your aquarium. Only a single power cord delivers all the lighting you need for the ultimate looking aquarium.
TrueLumen High Output T-5 lamps offer a quantum leap in lamp performance, nearly doubling the lumen output compared to an ordinary T5, T8 or T12 fluorescent system. Using our proprietary blend of tri-phosphors, the high PAR & CRI levels produce stunning color rendition and penetrating intensity. Coupled with our finely tuned electronic driving system, SlimPaq lamps have the longest usable life-span of any aquarium lamp.
Each Nova Extreme includes two high output T5 TrueLumen lamps and sliding docking mounts.
TrueLumen 460nm Actinic T5HO (Saltwater models only) - A super actinic blue lamp emitting light energy required by corals and invertebrates, along with producing a high UV output. Outstanding color rendition that makes corals, invertebrates and fish fluoresce brilliantly.
TrueLumen 12,000K White T5HO - A powerful, penetrating full spectrum lamp replicating sunlight found on living coral reefs. Exceptional high lumen output concentrated between 400-480nm stimulates zooxanthellae production increasing both coral and invertebrate growth.

On May 4, 2013:
Bought as a replacement for the stock single 48" bulb on my 55 gallon Cichlid tank. I have to say I am more than happy. Light to the bottom and the blue bulb really brings out the colors of my fish. It is a bit tough to get the legs on at first but other than that it works as it should.
On March 31, 2013:
These lights are amazing I have them in my 20 gallon tank and allow me to have corals for a great price.
On March 14, 2013:
Got this light for a new saltwater set up and it's worth every penny, super bright, well made. If you're looking for a great light try this one.
On February 1, 2013:
I can't talk about my new 24" saltwater light without first saying great job Pet Mountain! Great price! Great Service! Quick Delivery! Now for the product. Beautiful on the tank! Really lights everything nicely! My fish seem so much happier since I changed out my existing LED light for this one. What can I say, when my fish are happy, they make me happy. Love the light and plan to replace the ones on my other tanks with these.
On January 5, 2013:
I purchased this light about 2 weeks ago. Saltwater 24'' 10k daylight and 10k atinic. The light works great.. nice and bright my fish love it. Legs are a little hard to slide into the slides and ballasts a little finicky but when all is said and done I saved $40-50 over buying the zoo med light that does not even come with bulbs. And free shipping. Cannot beat... I tried :) Thanks petmountain. Will definitely buy a 2nd here soon.
On April 29, 2012:
We ordered two fixtures to fit our 55 gal. reef/fish tank. When the lights came, we put the daylight bulbs together and the actinic in the other fixture. We put them on two different timers to optimize their efficiency. When the daylight bulbs came on, it was as if the sun was coming from the aquarium!!! Now it is 7 months later and we are changing the bulbs, but the lights are still fantastic!
On February 21, 2012:
Amazing light for $100. Got the 48". Fits good. Doesn't get hot. So bright.
On November 23, 2011:
Love this light. Looked at a bunch including LED from Marineland, among others. Very bright and good balance in the spectrum with blue and bright 12k white. I'm sure the mini-reef will continue to thrive with these 2 T5 bulbs. Definitely recommend!
On November 2, 2011:
AAAAAAA+ my tank looks great!!!!!
On October 11, 2011:
New, low profile... Look great!!!
On September 7, 2011:
I have a saltwater tank and I wanted the best and most affordable light fixture. This site was easy and my order came extremely fast! I am very pleased with how fast it had come and the secured packaging the light fixture was in! I would order from here again!! AWESOME
On August 27, 2011:
The bulbs that come with the fixture aren't impressive. I used this light on my 5.5 reef pico for about a week and shoved it in my closet. I would recommend this light for beginners and not for the more serious reef enthusiasts.
On July 14, 2011:
I purchased this set and got it ready for my 30 gallon reef tank and then ready for the big moment to turn it on-- It was perfect! My coral Brain and Polyp's were all so in attention when I replaced a smaller wattage ballast and light with this one. From 18W to 78W was the perfect move. Buying an anemone today for my 2 clown fish to go in it.
On June 22, 2011:
A lot of people like to be able to control which light they can turn on. This unit only has one power on/off switch. But for the price you cannot beat it. I have only had it for a month so I cannot speak to its durability and anything associated with that. I did not put on the legs as you CANNOT have it without glass, so it is just sitting on my glass canopy. Changing bulbs is easy to do but I noticed you can keep turning the bulb plug all the way back around which was odd...but it works, just have to stop half way lol Again, for the price, if you want T5 lighting, this is the way to go.
On May 25, 2011:
The best lighting you can get for this price range. I searched high and low and there is not another light / fixture with true T5 lighting at this price. I was using Coralife 50/50 bulbs on a Nano Reef 10 Gallon and once I changed to these the corals "ALL" opened up.
On May 10, 2011:
This light is great I had one on my 75 gallon marine aquarium then upgraded to a 125 gallon fish tank. Instead of paying $600 for a 6ft light i just got a second one of these and put the actinic lights in one and daylights in another.
On April 15, 2011:
Works very good and my corals love it.
On March 14, 2011:
Great light have it on my 10 gal nano tank with several different types of soft corals and all are doing well have had this for about two months. Does not produce too much heat either.
On December 8, 2010:
It is extremely bright and what we were looking for.
On December 7, 2010:
Really lights up my 38 gallon tank, quick delivery. no problems at all.
On October 26, 2010:
Works Perfectly, Fits Perfectly, and really has helped liven up the residents of the Aquarium!!
On October 9, 2010:
I recently switched from a 36"compact fluorescent unit which at the time cost me $350.00 for the unit and the replacement bulbs were $45.00 each. Needless to say it gets extremely hot and doesn't give the lighting anemones require. I switched to T5 after reading numerous reviews and I am impressed! My anemones stay put and are fully and brighter than ever and a small colony of feather dusters have appeared on my live rock and are vibrant. The price was only $100.00 for a 48 fixture and the bulbs are fairly inexpensive, around $20, this item is a plus!!
On September 22, 2010:
From what I've heard these lights are great this is what my friend has and this is what I'm getting I have p/c this is not only an upgrade but at a great price.
On August 25, 2010:
WELL MADE PRODUCT-AT FIRST YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE BULBS ARE TIGHTLY FASTENED- I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE THREE UNITS I PURCHASED OVER TWO YEARS AGO. IF YOU CAN GET THEM ON SALE-IT IS A VERY GOOD DEAL!
On July 18, 2010:
Restarting our 20 gallon tank and needed a light to replace an ancient 18W hood. Great fit. Purchased a pair of extra bulbs, too, while I was at it. Terrific price on the fixture and the bulbs.
On July 10, 2010:
Got this light, hooked it up, and have not stopped staring at my tank. Going to order another fixture soon. Must have item. Go get it!!!!
On July 4, 2010:
I couldn't believe my luck when I found this fixture.I got 2 of them covering the whole surface of my 36" planted aquarium and my plants are thanking me every day, looking better than ever. And what a service! I received the lights the second day without paying extra!
On June 29, 2010:
Easy and straight forward transaction. Great product and shipped in a well packed box. My fishes love it.
On December 17, 2009:
I have Current USA Sunpod with a 150 W metal halide light in a smaller tank. It has a fan making low level noise. I bought this one because it does not need a fan so my family room would not be noisier. It turns out the 108 w T5 is much brighter than 150 w metal halide. My fish and coral are very happy. I should have bought T5 for my small tank too.
On October 15, 2009:
This light fixture is great and at the best price around. These T5's are a huge step up from my pc's. My only complaint is that the legs dont extend out long enough for the fixture to fit on a 10 gallon aquarium. I had to improvise and use egg-crate to position the fixture on my aquarium.
On July 3, 2008:
I just started using this light, but so far so good! My corals took notice of the new light right away - it was like they grew instantly! This light also really brings out the brightness of my fish - it gives off a very pretty light-blue-tinted color. The fan noise is noticable, but hasn't bothered me yet. And you can't beat the PetMountain.com price! Love it so far!
On December 10, 2007:
I have this light, in the freshwater version, over my 20H planted tank. My tank is tall so I needed a light that would be able to penetrate deep into the substrate. This light is growing wonderful plants and I couldn't be happier. You cannot beat the price on this fixture. I love it!
On November 8, 2007:
I have recently started purchasing these lights for all of my tanks. The difference is phenomenal! I highly recommend them to anyone wishing to upgrade their existing lighting or buying for the first time. The colors of the fish and ornamentals are very vibrant. Another very important feature is the small profile of the light. The old lights stand up at least 4 inches or more. These are extremely sleek. Try them - you won't be disappointed.
On October 25, 2007:
Purchased as an upgrade from NO T5 fixture on a 20 gallon FOWLR tank. Spectrum is superb and fixture does not generate significant heat increases. Highly recommended!
On October 19, 2007:
I set up some frag tanks and needed HO lighting - but I had a very tight budget. I bought two of the 36" lights to replace my power compacts and the frags are growing like crazy!!! Definitely worth the money - just remember that they do not have built-in fans so make certain your other equipment does not generate a lot of heat and these lights should do the job!!
On September 27, 2007:
A great product for your saltwater system. Haven't been able to find it cheaper anywhere else!
