They don’t hold onto sand or mud. We have found as soon as you stretch them it all falls off. The dogs can grab and hold on well and they are a full tug toy with a built in bungee as well as a great retrieve toy. I have different sizes and my different dogs like the size options.

It's always a roll of the dice on what a pup will like and what he won't. These Hol-ee Rollers are available in numerous sizes. I have small dogs, so the very large sized ones are pretty much lost on them. I bought one of these mini ones a couple years ago, and he LOVED it. It has been his favorite toy for at least a couple of years. Not unexpectedly, it started falling apart after the many, many hours of play. So, I went to every local pet shop I could find in my area and no one carries them in this size anymore! So, I was thrilled to find them on Pet Mountain's site. I'm glad they're still available somewhere, because this has been by far one of my baby's favorite toys of all time.

I bought one of these in a TJMax when my dog was just a puppy. It quickly became her favorite toy. She will pick it up and go to the door waiting for me to go outside to play. I love it because it is so easy to "catch" when she wants to play tug but also is easy to throw for her to retrieve it. Best toy ever!

I bought 2 of these balls. The jumbo size for my boxer. From the second it came out of the bag, he has not taken one of them out of his mouth and it has been 8 months. He demands you throw it for him, he leaps in the air, does flips, he is really the poster dog for this item. It's a spectacular sight to see. The other one he didn't touch for 6 months, so someone else told me that she put a squeeky ruber ball from JW INSIDE (it took some elbow grease and 2 people.....but we stretched the thing and shoved it in.....NOW I have his obsession outside and this one with the ball inside. There is something about this ball. I'm thinking of buying two more for storrage in case one day it goes bad and I need a back up. Although the one he plays with EVERY DAY looks brand spanking new and it will be a year of outside, chew, tug of war with other dogs and mud, snow, soaking in rain. I wish they would send me a few free ones. Wink. No, seriously. This is an excellent toy.

Our two dogs love these balls. They play tug of war, chase, fetch, etc. for months with one before it starts to tear up. Then they continue playing with it! This is a great ball for individual play or group play. We will continue ordering these!

We have great danes of differing ages. This toy allowed them both to play as it is easy to grab on to. Great toy!

These balls - we have various sizes - are terrific dog toys. Easy to throw far (enough). Easy and safe for dogs to catch in the air; easy for them to grab. Great for tug-of-war, including dog-to-dog. And safe to throw in the house, within reason. They last for years. I have 2 dogs and one is a real power-chewer. For some reason he does not chew these up, nor does my puppy. My 16-lb pup can pick up and carry around even the large size ball. They're all great.

This is BY FAR the BEST toy for outdoor play with my dogs that Ive purchased. I have two medium-sized dogs; a bully breed mix and a corgi mix. These two dogs like to play together with me outside and are very hard on toys. They get tired of hard toys and like something with a rubbery feel. However, finding something they can't tear up during play is hard. We usually play fetch. This involves the dogs chasing a toy, grabbing it, and tugging it as they jointly return it to me. Of course, it's the tugging while running that really destroys the toys. In part, this is because they have very different tug styles. The bully breed just uses brute force to try and jerk it away from the corgi mix. In contrast, the corgi mix tries to twist the toy out of the bully breed's mouth. In any case, this ball has survived months of regular outdoor play with no tears in the rubber. I can hardly even find teeth marks. It is very durable and we're thrilled with it. With all that being said, this is a toy for play with your dogs, not a chew toy for doggie-only play time. In fact, the only damage this ball has suffered was done when I mistakenly left them alone with it for 2 minutes. They were able to quickly rip one of the rectangles away from a joint. On the up side, the tear did not cause the ball to loose integrity, bounce, etc. It still works well, and the tear does not seem to create a weak spot resulting in the rest of the ball being pulled apart easily during play. It's survived with a tear for a month or so now.

This toy is a unique one and its shape and how it moves seems to be a constant source of fascination for my dog. Further, my dog tends to be hard on toys, but this one holds up. Finally, be aware that the large sized toy will be smaller than you think and you might want to size up.

This toy has been through three puppy stages and is in the same shape the day we brought it home (albeit a bit dirtier). It's a favorite at the dog park and I'm glad I found this online so I can direct other pet parents where to buy. It's durable enough for a Cairn to hold onto and be picked up off the ground by the ball. It's a great toy.
