Works Well

We're using the 50 watt de-icer in an automatic pet waterer for our cats and dog. The temperatures have been in the single digits, and we've had no ice in the water. Very pleased with the product.

Good Product - it works

I purchased the 80 watt K and H Super Ice Birdbath De-icer and I'm pleased with how it performs. The week it arrived the temp dropped to zero degrees and this device kept the area around the de-icer free of ice. It did not keep the entire birdbath ice free at this temp but when temp went up to 15 - 20 degrees it kept the entire water area free of ice. I don't thik the 50 watt would have worked as well and costs almost as much as larger 80 watt unit. Water must cover the unit for it to function properly.

Water for Feral Pet

Since receiving this KandH Super Ice Eliminator Birdbath De-Icer, our weather has warmed up above freezing. I wish it were that easy! Just buy the De-Icer and the temps go up! Since my pet is a super friendly feral cat, I have been introducing the De-Icer to her gradually and set it out in a large pan. I will be moving it gradually closer to the outlet where it can be plugged in and actually work. Hopefully the temps will stay up long enough to make this change. I only hope the plug can reach the outdoor outlet when we get it there. The cord is quite short. If I can get my beautiful outdoor cat to adjust to this change, it will make us both very happy. I will let you know what happens and give a final rating then.
