Great choice to teach hand-feeding to your koi

After 4 years of keeping koi, I tried out Hikari foods last year. My koi loved Hikari Gold last summer, but I had to add Garlic flavor to the Hikari Wheat Germ winter food to get them to eat that (at 65 degree water temp). This year I decided to see how they liked Saki-Hikari Color Diet. We're at week 2 in 71 degree water, and their enthusiasm for this food is so great they knock each other out of the way to be first to my hand! Will definitely keep using Saki-Hikari this year.

UPDATE to earlier review

I reviewed this earlier this year. At the time it was January-February and I was mixing it with wheat germ winter food. My koi love this Saki-Hikari. However, after 2 weeks of using this exclusively I am constantly at war with dark water - even days after doing a 50% change. The food itself is very dark brown. My water now looks as though I have been using peat in it. I hand feed, so overfeeding is not a problem. I will now begin mixing it with Hikari Gold, which they also love, and see if my dark water problem goes away. My koi have grown already on this food however, in 72-74 degree water temps, I can see the size difference since January - even mixed with wheat germ food!
