Contains stabilized Vitamin C which promotes resistance to stress and infectious disease. Promotes a long, healthy life through excellent daily nutrition.
It takes a full ton of wheat germ to get 100g of wheat germ oil, an excellent source of vitamin E, linoleic acid and other essential nutrients for your fish. Wheat germ oil has more vitamin E than other cereal oils and more of the vitamin E alpha component found to be essential for long-term health and vigor. Linoleic acid is a vital component in cell walls and provides necessary hormones to the body, among other known benefits.
Feeding Suggestions: When water temperature is consistently below 40 degrees, stop feeding. Once water temperature is consistently above 40 degrees, but below 60 degrees, feed once daily. If water temperature is consistently above 60 degrees but below 70 degrees, two times daily during the warmest part of the day. When water temperature is consistently above 70 degrees, feed two to four times daily. Warmer temperatures bring more activity which requires more food. Please do not exceed the amount your fish will eat within three to five minutes of feeding. Remove all remaining food after the feeding period to avoid over-feeding and the water quality problems which can result from this action.
Note: During any appetite loss, after sickness or during medicating, your koi's eating habits may be significantly reduced, careful monitoring of the amount of food you feed is required to avoid problems.

I have switched from Hikari Gold to the Wheat Germ as the weather has become cooler and my koi still love this product.
Winter is now here so I have switched over to the wheat germ formula. So far my koi have been eating it at the same rate as the previous food, but I will be slowing it down as temps get/ stay colder. I have used Hikari foods before with good results, and the wheat germ formula seems to be on par.
My fish are transitioning from summer to winter food and really love this product.
I started feeding Hikari Wheat Germ mini pellets to my goldfish 2 years ago, they love it! It is good for them during cooler weather before hibernating in winter.
Great food. Koi love it. The product is one big single bag. So it was a great saving purchase, compared buying small Hikari bags. I think it's best if you have a lot of koi. I have 15 koi so I use my foodsaver vacuum to preserve for later use! Make into 8 small bags ;-) Otherwise, the food wont be fresh for very long after opening the original big bag.
I always like Hikari koi food for my koi. Although they can be a bit pricey compared to the others, Hikari does have the quality and my koi don't mind eating them each time I feed them. Spend it on your koi if you love them enough :)
I have a mixed population of fish, ranging from about 2" to over 10" in length. These pellets are just right for all of them so I don't have to buy multiple different kinds/sizes of food. And, the wheat germ formula is great for year round feeding.
This is the second year I have used Hikari Wheat Germ as the temps get cooler. My koi love it and it keeps them active and healthy. I highly recommend.
Hikari koi foods are well received by my koi, and while not cheap, they are the best all around koi food I have found to date. Pet Mountain's price and service for Hikari are also the best I have found. With the free shipping it is worth buying.
I blend this with Saki Hikari Multi Season koi food to help reduce the cost of my monthly koi food bill. I have been pleasantly surprised. Koi have been growing steadily, and their color looks good.
This is an excellent food for your Koi. Also an EXCELLENT price. I alternate feeds with Hikari and Tetra Koi Vibrance.
I have fed my koi Hikari Wheat Germ exclusively for over 15 years. They have all seemed to eat it all up very quickly, and with its floating ability, they are a joy to watch feeding. I feed them freeze dried krill as a treat a few times a week, but they eat the wheat germ even faster.
I have been looking for this particular koi food online and Pet Mountain has the best prices, especially for the larger quantities when you figure in the shipping costs!
