SeaChem Phosguard outperforms all competing products. PhosGuard is a high capacity and high efficiency filtration product for removing phosphates and silicates from marine or fresh water aquaria. Unlike competing products, PhosGuard is bead-shaped for optimum flow characteristics and has an exceptional porosity for enhanced capacity. PhosGuard has a working capacity to remove 20 to 60 mg/l phosphate in 100 gallons with a similar impact on silicates. It may be used continuously or intermittently, and will not release removed phosphate. PhosGuard will cause a decline in hair algae and enhance coral growth. Each liter treats up to 300 gallons. Marine or freshwater use.
Instructions: Use 1 cup for every 75 gallons. Leave product in place for 4 days, then test phosphate and silicate.

Seachem PhosGuard Rapidly Removes Phosphate and Silicate for Marine and Freshwater Aquariums Customer Reviews
I received an email about the discount from PM. I went online to order the discounted product, but didn't commit yet because I wanted to find more stuff to order. The next day I came back to finish the order. The price had changed and no longer had the discounted price. I sent an email to PM and got a reply back almost immediately asking me to call in to order so they could honor the discount over the phone as the online system no longer allowed that discounted price. I called, ordered and the products shipped out on the same day. Can't beat that kind of commitment to excellent customer service! Thank you Pet Mountain! - CJ
If your phosphates are out of whack and you need to get them down, this does the job fast. Brought the phosphates in my 100gal down from 2ppm to 0 in under 2 days. In order to truly fix the problem though, you must find the source of the phosphates. Otherwise you'll just have to buy PhosGuard forever.
I've suffered from excess algae problems for years and it's a hassle on big tanks (100 gal+ with thick glass). I place a handfull of PhosGuard in my canister filter or a bag made from a piece of pantyhose and the problem is solved with no fuss. Works great!
