Via Aqua Quartz Heater Customer Reviews
I was so scared to buy a heater because, as a new fish keeper, I had done my research online and it's all full of horror stories about boiling and electrocuting fish, exploding heaters, and so on. I decided to give this a try because of the positive reviews here and the price was attractive too (because we needed a few heaters for 6 tanks). I haven't had these long, but I trust them. They're connected to controllers that display the water temperature and will turn the heaters on and off as needed to keep the tank water temperature between selected perimeters. So far so good! I'm impressed, and am considering ordering backups just in case they don't last long (who knows?) because I'm happy with the performance of these heaters.
Plugged it in and has worked well since!!!
Great product, fast shipping, low price. I will definitely be buying more products from them.
I honestly can't complain it keeps my tank at a happy and steady 80 degrees but the heater is no where near accurate (I have to have it set on 86 to achieve 80) but it works and the fish are thriving so that's good enough for me.
Price is right but they seem to fail sooner that visatherm and other heaters.
Easy to make sure I've got it set at the right temperature.
We bought this for a 75 gallon tank and it is working great. Good product and a joy to deal with Pet Mountain.
This heater is easy to set to the desired temperature, and has a visible scale to show the set temperature as you adjust it higher or lower. After setting the temperature to 78 degrees, the water in the tank has stayed at precisely 78 degrees at all times. You can't ask for anything more in a heater than one that is both easy to adjust, and accurate.
Works great in my 60 gallon. No issues yet. It's aesthetically pleasing so that's a plus too.
Use this in a 55 gal and works wonderfully.
I Bought this 200w for my 47 column few weeks back & it holds the temp exactly at 77. The quality is to notch as well, Definitely built to last!
From an older review nearly 18 months ago. Both 50w and 200w have been working great. Stable temps. No issues at all. I can't complain would buy them again. Cheaper now.
I typically don't write reviews, but I'm rather pleased with this heater (also got a 200W at the same time). There are higher quality heaters, but this heater appears to be adequately built to last a while. So far it works exactly as I want it to. The nicest thing about this heater is the cost:quality ratio. Higher quality heaters suitable for my needs cost upwards of $50. Most heaters priced in the $15-20 range (like this one) are absolute junk -- they go straight from the packaging to the trash bin. Obviously not a value of any kind. These heaters are just a notch below the $50 build quality, and work great (at least so far). If it lasts more than a year, I would be happy, but I suspect it will function quite a bit longer than that. My colleague at work has a couple of these in their office tank that have been going for 2 or more years now. I give this an overall 5 star rating because of the value. Break it down and I would give it a 4 for build quality (glass is a vulnerability in most tanks/sumps), 4.5 for dependable, predictable operation, and a 5+ for price-to-product quality ratio.
Can't beat the heat for the price you're getting them at here. It's all I buy for all my tanks.
Very good heater with a great price. Easy adjustment of the setting with the red indicator. Will buy again.
Perfect heater for my 70 gallon tank. Heats up quickly and maintains a constant temperature.
I have the 100W heater in a 10G tank, as it is close to a window & has been hard to heat. This works perfectly, & keeps my tank at an even 80 all during the night. Great heater for the price.
I have the 300 watt heater and it works as expected. The red bars for the temperature readout is decent and useful, and the unit clicks when it turns on/off. The price is a good bargain.
I bought this item a month ago and the temp shown on the heater is what I have on the thermometer. Easy to adjust and price on it was even better.
Have this in my 55 gallon tank and it's getting the job done very well. Water temperature holds very well even throughout the night, and the tank is close to a window.
This heater is a fantastic buy... Works great; very accurate. Works just as well as much more expensive heaters.
This is a great heater BUT you must install a GFI outlet for it. It goes under the water so you do not want to chance a short circuit if the product seal fails. It heated my 55 gallon quickly and evenly. Was impressed considering the old, hang out of the tank style heaters took forever to really warm up a tank.
I found it easy to adjust and it works well. Great unit and good value.
The item was just as advertised. The price was fantastic. I just hooked them up 2 days ago, and everything seems to be working perfectly.
Both heaters have been up and running for a few days. Both have kept temps very stable.
I purchased these heaters because I had two heaters from petsmart go bad both at the same time. My tanks were running about 68 degrees. Which I think caused the ick problem. With the heaters in place tank stays at a constant 82 degrees which is a bit high but trying to get rid of the ick. Normally try to keep tank at 78/80 degrees. So far no problems and the tank stays at a constant 82 degree. I went with the ViaAqua because I needed heaters right away and didn't have the 25 to 30 dollars to buy the heaters i really wanted. I like these heaters so much I plan on purchasing more for the other tanks.
The temperature dial/knob does NOT have an arrow marking on the top ... thus, I can't tell where setting is at. May be I missed it???
I bought the 100 watt heater, put it in my tank and it was spot on with my thermometers. The light is not as bright as on my Jager heater making it just a bit harder to quickly glance to see if it's on during the day but makes it better for night because it's not so bright. It's a happy medium. The knob is easy to precisely adjust the temp. At first I thought the temp settings were not as small of increments as I wanted (they go 72, 75, 79, 82, 86, etc) but then I realized you adjust the temperature within a temp number by watching the red bar. So while in 75 degrees range with only a small red bar visible I'm able to get my desired temp of 73-74 degrees. And it's dead on with my thermometer ... it's really accurate! I'm very happy with my purchase. Excellent heater for the money.
I bought the 200 Watt ViaAqua for my freshwater planted tank. The heater works very good, holds the Temperature at 80. I have owned more expensive Heaters, this is just as good. Thanks Pet Mountain for a good price.
It took me about a day to get the temp at the correct degrees but after that it seems to work pretty good and the price was very reasonable. I do find it a little hard to read the temp on the heater but I have to stick on digital thermometers on the outside of the tank.
This keeps my 90 gallon right at 80 degrees. Even in a cold basement. I am very impressed with the build quality of this heater. And it looks nice.
I bought the 100watt and it works great. I like that it has actual numbered temp settings. It has the old school glass tube but for the price you can't beat it
Pet Mountain had a great price and delivered the product just the way they promised!
I JUST GOT THIS HEATER TODAY AND REPLACED MY OLD HEATER WHICH KILLED THREE OF MY RED PARROT FISHES DUE TO INACCURATE PERFORMANCE. THIS HEATER IS VERY ACCURATE. I SET THE TEMPERATURE AT 80 DEGREES , AND MY THERMOMETER READING IS THE SAME AS MY HEATER. I AM TRULY AMAZED WITH THIS HEATER. I THINK I AM GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR MY OTHER TANK. PRICE FOR THIS HEATER IS VERY AFFORDABLE AND FOR PERFORMANCE IS BEYOND MY EXPECTATION!
