Zoo Med Floating Turtle Log for Aquatic Turtles Customer Reviews
I've had one of these floating in my 95 gallon tank (and smaller logs in my smaller tanks) for over 12 years. I have no turtles, but I keep and breed tropical fish. The fish love swimming in and out of them, and use them for resting and breeding as well. At any given time, there are usually at least 6 fish inside. For fish, I would suggest the log for tanks that are 50 gallons or larger.
My baby red ear slider turtle loves this log. It provides security for hiding and a place to get dry if he/she does not feel like basking under the basking lamp.
This log has proven to be such a hit that I just bought my third. I have one for the indoor winter mud turtle tank, one for their outdoor summer pond, and one for a small outdoor pond where a male musk stays year round. The turtles absolutely depend on it for hiding and basking. It's worked for young sliders too.
I purchased this floating log after trying multiple things in my turtle tank. My tank is long and thin and I was looking for something that both my turtles could sun on at the same time and wouldn't take up to much room. My turtles love this log. They can swim through it and sit on it and peek through the holes in it. It is very sturdy and floats so filter can keep it clean under the log. Love this turtle log. I would highly recommend it.
This thing is great for 20 or more gallons and hatchling turtles, my pink belly sideneck stays inside the log while my basking turtles are on top, and it looks great in the tank as well!
Ive got 3 turtles in a 55 gallon tank with the smaller of these floating logs, and the turtles love it. It takes away those tackey docks. The turtles have outgrown the smaller log now, but im planning on getting the larger for them. Definate buy for smaller turtles that wont sink the ship.
