Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food Maintenance Formula Description
The #1 aquatic turtle food has gone natural and is now available in 3 pellet sizes and protein levels (Hatchling, Growth and Maintenance Formulas). Each has been scientifically formulated to meet the dietary requirements of aquatic turtles at each of their life stages.
- Maintenance Formula for aquatic turtles 6" and above
- Floating pellets make it easier to locate and eat
- Added vitamins and minerals for optimum turtle health
Zoo Med Hatchling formula is higher in protein to accommodate the rapid growth rates of hatchling and juvenile aquatic turtles. Zoo Med Growth and Maintenance formulas meet the dietary requirements of growing and adult aquatic turtles. Our pellets float making it easier for aquatic turtles, who prefer eating at the water surface, to locate their food.
This food is formulated for turtles that have reached their full adult size, or a shell length of 6 inches (15 cm). Place pellets in water and allow turtles to feed for a minimum of one hour. Any uneaten food left after this time should be netted out and discarded. If your turtles eat all of their food in a short amount of time, increase the quantity of food offered at each feeding.
Made in the USA.
FAQ:
Q: How much should I feed my turtle
A: You only want to give your turtle as many pellets as it can completely consume within about 5 minutes. If you feed your turtle and there are pellets left after that time, scoop the remaining pellets out with a net and discard them.

Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food Maintenance Formula Customer Reviews
I am so pleased with the turtle food I purchased. My RES won't eat most foods but the Zoo Med Maintenance Food he loves. He ate every piece I put in the tank. And the price was the lowest price found on the internet for that large jar of food. I will be ordering all of my turtle food from this site.
Zoo Med Maintenance Formula pellets have been working great so far! Turtles seem more active and alert. There's also less protein (25% vs 40% in Mazuri), less fat (5% vs 10%) and more fiber (8% vs 5%) than other comparable adult formulas ie. Mazuri and Reptomin which is a good because it somewhat simulates what they get in the wild. Another great product by Zoo Med! :)
Im in love with PetMountain service, and all products fantastic, my dog love the food, excellent condition, and Ill recommend to buy every thing at so good prices
I have two 6+ inch sliders. They have been raised on this food most of their lives. However, I did run out of it a couple of months ago, so I had to feed them repto sticks. Well to make the story short, within two weeks of feeding the repto sticks, both turtles shells started to pyramid. Well they are back on their right food, their shells have stopped pyramiding. I will make sure I never run out of this food again.
I have 3 turtles so as you can imagine if I purchase the small container of food it does not last very long. Finally a large container of turtle food! Perfect for me
Nice thing about this food is there is never any leftovers to clean up. They also stay edible longer than the other food I use.
My turtles really like this food. They eat it up the second it's in their tank, but they're not very picky. I also like it because it doesn't sink until it's been in the tank for quite a while. So I have a chance to remove uneaten pieces before they cause a mess. My only issue with this food is that sometimes the next day after a feeding the tank will smell. It smells pretty icky, but it always goes away. I can't yet figure out whether this smell is from the turtle feces that they have after eating the food, or whether I accidentally fed them too much and the uneaten food is causing the smell. If you feed them in a separate area it might solve this problem, I don't know. But I like this food above other turtle food simply based on pellet size and diet balance, but the smell is a problem. It's great for breaking up their diet (I also feed greens, and once in a blue moon, fish).
With several of my Turtles getting larger, I needed some thing better then small sticks. They love it! Seem healthier and more active since using this.
it lasted awhile as well
I have been using this product for years, the under 6" product made my turtles have a huge growth spurt. After 1 year of use they are now over 6" and will try the new formula.
