A metal retainer ring flips down to secure the bottle in the holder. Sturdy plated steel construction prevents gnawing animals from damaging the bottle or cap. Use the adjustable strap hanger and bend to fit most cages, carriers, and glass cage habitats. Easy to remove the water bottle to clean or refill it.

4 oz Perfect for Gerbils!

I am in love with the Oasis 4 oz guard and the water bottle that goes with it. Gerbils drink very little and like deep litter to burrow in. This size guard is perfect for gerbils (a pair of these desert animals would take 10 days to drink 4 oz so don't need the larger water bottles). The thick plastic and rounded tops of the bottles prevent gerbils from chewing them. Perfect produce for gerbils!

I loved this guard as it is well made and fits the tank for my gerbils. It was well packaged and I received quickly. I will again place an order.

Confusing at first but then I got it!

(Purchased for gerbils) I totally didn't realize that the metal bended when I got this, it took a google search to figure out how to attach it. It does hang a bit low in the tank so I would recommend attaching it to a topper on the tank rather than the tank itself, but if you don't mind clearing a space for it to hang low it is good.
